January of 2023 welcomes a new slate of Goldner Conservatory classes to coincide with the New Year!
In addition to their after-school spring classes, their programming includes “Play in A Day” Camps held on days when students are out of school: The dates are January 16, February 20, and April 7, 2023, and are held at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre for grades K-5. Students in grades 3-5 attend all day from 9:00-3:00pm. K-2 may spend the day with them as well, but may also just attend morning or afternoon sessions.
Camps are filled with theatre games, music, and improvisation as students create original short plays using imagination and teamwork. Content changes for every session, so sign up for all!
Up next for Grades K-8, is their Spring Break Camp held from March 20-24, “OLIVER WITH A TWIST.” Campers will immerse themselves in Old London Town for the week, creating an original tale using music and dance, with characters from OLIVER TWIST (with a British accent, of course!).
As a special offer for enrolling in the Spring Camp session, campers will be treated to a professional matinee performance of OLIVER, presented on the mainstage of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, on Wednesday, March 22nd. The entire camp is held at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
Finally, for the older crowd, (Grades 7-12) will be able to learn from the best! They’ll be offering exciting Saturday Special workshops held throughout the spring session for students to work with Broadway and seasoned theatre professionals.
February 18 welcomes Jerry Dixon, the director of GOOD PEOPLE and an award-winning actor, teacher, writer. His go-to class will focus on making the most of the lyrics in a song.
Lizz Picini, an instructor with NYC dance program Broadway Dance Center, will join us on March 18, to lead a dance call and Q&A. Folks, she even has her own dance boot named after her!
April 22, the conservatory welcomes Nicky Jasper, a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors and a founder of Open Gate Movement Arts to lead a hand-to-hand stage combat course.
