By Deborah Graham, Macaroni Kid PBG-Jupiter June 20, 2012

Looking for a fun, safe environment where your kids can learn valuable concepts while interacting with their peers? Check out Clown Town in Tequesta!

Clown Town, also known as 'Poe Poe's Precinct', is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to "promoting laughter, love & happiness, and making a positive impression of law enforcement personnel to the children of our communities."

A Labor of Love
Clown Town is owned and operated by the dynamic husband & wife team of Police Corporal/Honor Guard Commander Derick Velez and Ashley Velez, also affectionately known by their clown names: 'Poe Poe and Giggles'. The concept of the business has been a gradual labor of love and the 'Poe Poe' character has taken many years of development. Derick shares, “Since I’ve been in law enforcement for 26 years, I’ve always wanted to teach the kids something of good with my character. Poe Poe is the clown that patrols Clown Town and keeps the kids safe.” Ashley explains how her husband inspired her to later develop her very own character. “I saw what light it brought to his life and the smiles he brought to the kids and even with the elderly. And I loved that feeling!”

Activities & Classes
At Poe Poe’s Precinct in Clown Town, a child’s ultimate fantasy world unfolds with a colorful clubhouse that is filled from wall-to-wall with every activity imaginable.
