Diwali Mela Indian Carnival: "Festival of Lights", November 1

Palm Beach Indian Association is delighted to announce for the first time ever, Diwali Mela – An Indian Carnival. Discover and celebrate the Festival of Lights with fellow Indians from your local community over Indian food and merchandise.

The community festival, a Diwali Mela, will be held on Sunday November 1, 2015 from 3-7pm. Diwali is by far one of the biggest and brightest festival celebrated by Indians. This Festival of Lights is usually celebrated over 5 days with festivities and fun. It is a true representation of Indian culture with colorful clothes, delicious food, fireworks and lights where people of all ages enjoy. This year we would like to share this excitement with everyone. Join us as we recreate the excitement and magic of the Diwali season. We are organizing this event is to create an awareness among the entire community while we showcase our beautiful culture and tradition.

Here are some of the cultural activities that are planned during the mela:

Art Contest
We are kicking off the celebrations by announcing an Art Contest and inviting all PBIA member’s children to participate in. The lucky winners of the Art Contest will be officially announced on the day of Diwali Mela while everyone else will receive prizes for participation.

Rangoli Competition
We are inviting teams of 2-4 people to set up Rangoli. These teams can free to work on their own designs. The first 10 teams to register will be given a designated area to create their Rangoli. Prizes will be announced at the Mela. Colors are available for purchase through us if required.

Mela
We have lots of fun planned for the Mela- Hay Rides, pony rides, Indian themed photo booth, Henna Tattoos, Indian arts and crafts, carnival games and inflatables! We will also have a true showcase of Indian food, mithais, clothing and other merchandise.

FREE admission for Everyone! Food, merchandise, rides and activities are available for purchase.
