I recently had an opportunity to attend a Taste History Culinary Tour and had the added bonus of bringing my mother along for the ride. I'm so glad that I did because she's the first one that I would have thought of to gift with this experience. It was such a fun and enriching day for both of us as well as the other participants that we met during our tour. (Shout out to the ladies of Briney Breezes!)
Led by our gracious host and Executive Tour Director Lori J. Durante, we traveled to various locations throughout Lake Worth, Downtown West Palm Beach/Arts & Entertainment District, and the historic Northwood Village. Check out the locations we visited along our mini adventure:
Olivia’s Special Teas in Northwood Village
Our first official stop of the day brought us to a quaint, hidden gem--Olivia's Special Teas. Here we chatted with the owner and enjoyed a variety of delicious hot teas.

Alicia’s Latin Cuisine in Northwood Village
Owned by a husband and wife team, Alicia's Latin Cuisine is located in Northwood Village. Here, we enjoyed warm empanadas (with an amazing green sauce that I just had to buy an extra container of) and sangria. They also have a large outdoor seating area that is able to accommodate private parties, as well as the live entertainment by American and Spanish singers that regularly perfrom.

The Sugar Monkey
Our final stop brought us to The Sugar Monkey, a local Lake Worth bakery that is owned by pastry chef Jennifer Reed. Awesome way to end the day and satisfy our sweet tooth! We enjoyed samples of mini red velvet cupcakes, macarons, and double fudge brownies. As if that wasn't enough sugar for the day, I also bought a pint of their yummy passion fruit melon sorbet and a slice of carrot cake.
