The Future of STEM Education is at the Benjamin School!

By The Benjamin School October 24, 2018

The future of STEM education is here! The Benjamin School, South Florida’s premier PK-3-Grade 12 independent day school, unveiled the newest innovations in STEM education at the Maglio Family STEM Center Showcase in September. Earlier this year, the School broke ground on a state-of-the-art,13,171 square foot STEM Center and will open its doors in the spring of 2019. The showcase event highlighted the unique facility with interactive stations displaying new technologies and innovative curriculum.

Students enjoyed virtual reality demonstrations, robotics, and hydroponic gardening. Our youngest students, three-year-old children in our WOW program, were engaged in the worlds of coding, physics, and genetics, all while participating in play-based, hands-on experiments. The Maglio Family STEM Center is the only building in our area designed for students as young as three.

Our youngest students’ curiosity for learning is cultivated with reading and writing-readiness skills, mathematics, music, visual art, physical education, strings, and world languages, including Mandarin Chinese, French, and Spanish. Teachers inspire students to develop a set of values that includes a love of learning, personal responsibility, self-motivation, concern for others, and a commitment to serve society. The curriculum expands every year as our students continue to our Middle and Upper School program. For nearly sixty years, The Benjamin School has prepared students for many of the finest universities in the nation and for fulfilling lives beyond their graduation. The addition of the Maglio Family STEM Center reflects the School’s commitment to growth and innovation.
