Superior academics, tradition and innovation

St. Mark’s Episcopal School welcomes children of all faiths to experience its exceptional academic program in a safe, nurturing community. “There is an immense heart that beats at the center of the St. Mark’s community,” shares Deb Strainge, Head of School. “The depth of commitment to strong academics, principled character, and generosity of spirit is a distinctive quality of St. Mark’s.” As a tradition-rich Episcopal School, St. Mark’s gracefully integrates the development of faith and character into its educational experience. In church, in the classroom, and in service to the community, students have authentic opportunities to grow spiritually.

Supporting students through their formative middle years is tantamount to the mission. A community of its size allows faculty to connect with each child in order to both nurture and challenge. The highly regarded academic program inspires students to think in increasingly complex and abstract ways. Students are provided with a balanced exposure to enriched core academics as well as S.T.E.A.M. innovation initiatives, programs in world language, a variety of athletic offerings, service learning opportunities, courses in fine and performing arts, and an authentic integration of technology.

“Our main focus is to educate the whole child,” said Strainge. “While our academic program is rigorous, we encourage the social and emotional growth of our students.” A deep commitment in helping others, both in and out of school, and serving the wider community provides the cornerstone for character development. A robust after school program helps students build on their individual interests. Every aspect of the dynamic experience is structured to provide students with confidence, values, habits, skills, and knowledge to succeed in high school and beyond. Graduates gain admission to top area high schools and leave with a sound foundation for life, lifelong friends, and many memories.

St. Mark’s grand campus redevelopment provides impressive facilities for its comprehensive programs, activities, and events.
