It's Girl Scout Cookie Season! Find Out How to Get Your Cookies!

Check out the many ways to order this year!

By Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida February 16, 2021

Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida (GSSEF) kicks off the 2021 Girl Scout Cookie season with Girl Scouts doing what they do best. Girls are putting on their thinking caps and selling in creative, socially distant, and contact-free ways to keep themselves and their customers safe. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, girls are adapting their sales methods to share the joy of Girl Scout Cookies through the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program. They are hosting drive-thru cookie booths, putting up “lemonade stand” types of displays in their neighborhoods, using door hangers to offer contactless porch deliveries and other creative solutions. A new way for customers to satisfy their cookie craving this year is through a new national collaboration with Grubhub allowing contact-free pickup and delivery orders.

Ordering Now Available Through Delivery Platform Grubhub

Starting February 18, 2021, GSSEF is participating in a national collaboration with food ordering and delivery platform Grubhub so girls have an additional way to facilitate contact-free cookie orders. In South Florida, consumers can order Girl Scout Cookies for pickup or delivery on Grubhub.com or the Grubhub app. A hands-on experience in managing e-commerce, girls will track and fulfill orders, manage inventory, and more, all using Grubhub’s back-end technology. Just like with the other types of sales, the proceeds from the Grubhub sales benefit local Girl Scouts while providing another innovative way to safely run the cookie program virtually.

Innovative Girl-led Sales Methods

The Girl Scout Cookie Program has long taught girls how to run a business via in-person booths, door-to-door activity, and the Digital Cookie platform online. For the past several years, GSSEF has been using the Digital Cookie technology to enhance its cookie sale experience. It allows customers to place an order for all of their favorite cookie varieties, pay for their order with a credit card, and choose one of two delivery options – either have the cookies shipped directly to them or have their local Girl Scout deliver them. Girls can create and share a QR code that links directly to their Digital Cookie site allowing for safe, easy cookie purchases.

Digital Cookie has enhanced girls’ ability to take their sales to the next level with both a mobile app and a girl’s personalized website, putting control of the sale, from customer contact to completion of the order, squarely in her hands. With the ability to provide contactless cookie purchasing, girls still learn the entrepreneurship skills the Cookie Program is known for and customers can feel good while safely supporting girls while purchasing their favorite Girl Scout Cookies. And the proceeds from each and every purchase stay local to power Girl Scouts’ essential leadership programming.
