The Lighthouse ArtCenter’s summer camp
Keep your kids cool and creative this summer with "Super Summer 2.0." Kids 6 - 11 years old can take the camp in person at the ArtCenter’s newly renovated gallery and 2D studio or virtually through "ArtCamp in a Box." In addition, new 2-day in-person workshops are available for preteens and teenagers ages 12 - 16 years old. The camp takes place at the ArtCenter’s Gallery and 2D Studio located at 373 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta. The in-person camps will be limited to small groups of ten. For details and to register visit, lighthousearts.org or call (561)746-3101.

“We are excited to have the kids back on campus this summer. The weekly themes are fun and creative and will keep them entertained as they discover new artistic skills,” said Director of Education, Jeni Licata. “The teen workshops are new this year. They were specifically designed for this age group as an in-depth, 2-day experience, to explore each medium."

Each week during in-person camp, students will get an in-depth introduction to new projects that may include drawing, painting, printmaking, or sculpture. The themes change weekly, and students learn to create in their own style, at their own developmental level. Mediums that are often used are model magic, pastels, chalk pastels, colored pencil, markers, crayons, tempera, watercolor, and acrylic paints. Camp for ages six – eleven years old will be Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for $280.

ArtCamp in a Box
Includes everything needed for a week of artistic fun at home or wherever your kids may be for the summer. The lesson plans are designed by the ArtCenter’s esteemed instructors encouraging independent exploration, some parental supervision, and two optional interactive instructor-led Zoom sessions. The themes, lesson plans, and contents in the box change weekly. Boxes can be picked up at the ArtCenter for $90 or shipped for an extra $10.

The 2-Day “Teen” Workshops
For ages twelve – sixteen will entertain and inspire students with challenging and advanced techniques in different mediums. Four different workshops are offered in needle felting, cosplay, ceramics, and metalsmith/jewelry. The workshops are held on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for $208.

The ArtCenter is following CDC health and safety recommendations and is taking many precautions to ensure the safety of visitors, including increased cleaning, social distancing, and a mask requirement.
