Young Singers of the Palm Beaches is holding auditions, January 8, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. for children in grades 2-5, and from 11 a.m. to noon for those in grades 6 through 12.
Auditions are in person and take place in the Cohen Pavilion of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. Young Singers has audition requirements, music tracks to practice with, and further information available on their website at www.yspb.org/audition.
Young Singers of the Palm Beaches is way more than just a children’s choir. Since 2003, YSPB, as it is commonly known, has been a second home, a happy place, for children in grades 2 through 12 to learn and grow as better people, not just better singers. The Young Singer’s professional conductors and caring staff are dedicated to making sure each child is part of their community. Singers learn all the ins and outs of becoming a better singer like vocal technique, posture, breathing, diction, vowel articulation, music interpretation and music history, rehearsal and performance techniques, presentation, and etiquette. Their mission “teaching life skills through music” is brought to fruition as they guide children through communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving skills, appreciation for other cultures, good citizenship, and the importance of giving back to the community, and YSPB strives to build each child’s self-esteem and pride in oneself and in the group.
