By Young Singers of the Palm Beaches September 9, 2022

“Young Singers of the Palm Beaches is not only important for my child but important for us as parents. (My daughter) is in a safe place where she can do what she likes the most, singing! Music has helped her to improve her grades and to keep focus on what she needs to do. YSPB has changed her life for the better.”

Testimonials like this have been said about Young Singers of the Palm Beaches for 20 years.  The children’s choral non-profit, also known as YSPB, has been creating beautiful music by bringing together children from across Palm Beach County to develop harmony onstage and in life.

Young Singers began in 2003 to fill the need for the loss of music education in schools. Their founders were music educators and choral conductors who envisioned a children's choral organization that would not be constrained by school boundaries, religious affiliations, racial bias,  socio-economic barriers, or funding cuts to arts education. The organization has continued to grow, and as it begins its 20th Season this August YSPB is launching a new South County Choir to serve families in the southernmost part of the county.

Thanks to funding from Impact 100, Young Singers will be offering its award-winning choral program to families in the south part of the county who find it difficult to travel to their Kravis Center-based choir rehearsals. Rehearsals for the South County Choir will take place at the  Boynton Beach Arts and Cultural Center. Auditions are taking place in August and September for children in 2nd through 8th grades. Those interested can visit to learn more.

YSPB’s Kravis Center-based choir serves singers in grades 2 through 12. Singers are divided into five different choirs, and Young Singers also has ensemble choirs that perform out in the community.

Young Singers’ notable music professionals not only nurture and educate children in choral singing and vocal technique, but also in skills that are valuable throughout their life. YSPB  inspires young people to embrace their potential and strive for being their best selves, both on stage and off. Singers learn core vocal techniques like posture, breathing, diction, vowel articulation, reading music, and sight singing. In addition to performing throughout our area in ensemble choirs, Young Singers produces two large production concerts a season presented on the main stage of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
