Open House! Summer Camps at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre

Check out the great summer camp offerings!

By Goldner Conservatory at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre February 7, 2023

The Conservatory camps are guided by experienced theatre professionals and they offer a wide variety of activities for diverse learning experiences. Instructors and students will be in residence at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre throughout the summer and be taught in their newly constructed state-of-the-art facilities. Production camp students will rehearse in their gorgeous new rehearsal hall and perform on their enlarged pre-Broadway-sized stage.

The Goldner Conservatory will host the ghoulish and the macabre as Senior Conservatory students in grades 8-12 present the musical The Addams Family (June 5-25). Campers will engage in workshops for stage makeup and costuming and rehearse choreography, acting styles, and music before the final performance on the main stage of the Theatre.

July brings the Junior Conservatory campers (Grades 3-7) to the stage with the delightful production of Ever Happily After, A Musical Fairytale (July 10-30). Combine all the fairy tale characters you can think of (Cinderella, Pinocchio, Gretel, The Three Little Pigs, and the list goes on) with a touch of music reminiscent of Broadway hits from MJ and and Juliet and campers are sure to have a fun-filled, whirlwind 3 weeks while creating characters and learning music and dance moves.

June 26-July 7 (No camp on July 4)
New to the 2023 summer schedule is a 10-Minute Play camp for students interested in plays without singing or dancing. Students in grades 8-12 will perform published plays and collaborate with established playwrights to write their own plays. This camp will be a true partnership for students wanting to explore all aspects of scene work, character development and playwriting.

Families looking for activities with shorter timeframes will love their one-week camps. Preschool campers, ages 3-5, will have a ball creating a watery world with sea creatures in Under the Sea! (July 5-7).

Students in K-2 will have a swashbuckling good time in Pirates and Princesses camp (June 5-9) and use their creativity and imagination to build and explore in Castles and Caves (June 19-23). Campers bring their favorite superheroes to life during the Superhero Mash Up (July 10-14).

Grades 3-5 campers will visit the farthest reaches of the galaxy in a super fun space camp called Oh, My Stars! Asteroids and Moons! (June 12-16) and students will put their best sleuthing skills to work in Mystery Spy Camp (June 26-30).

Older students in grades 7-12 will dance their way through some famous Broadway numbers in their Broadway Dance Intensive (May 30-June 2) and then learn how to fight and skirmish in their stage combat class called Hand to Hand: Swords and Weapons (July 24-July 28).

Mark your calendars for their special Conservatory Open House being held at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre on Friday, March 17th, from 10:00am-12:00pm. The event will include a St. Paddy’s Day theme, a special guest appearance from Drama Dragon, and tours of the new facility. Join them and sign up for their summer of FUN!

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is located at 1001 East Indiantown Road, Jupiter.
