By The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County August 1, 2024

Do you know which color recycling bin accepts office and school paper? If you guessed the yellow recycling bin, you’re right! Palm Beach County residents are encouraged to recycle office and school paper items, which include:

  • Letterhead
  • Computer paper
  • Legal paper
  • Loose-leaf paper
  • Cash register receipts
  • Scratch and message paper
  • Copy paper
  • Colored paper
  • Plain kraft paper

Once all the yellow bin material reaches our recycling facility, the items are further sorted, separated, and baled. The bales are then sent to manufacturers who make new products.

Seeing is believing, and all are welcome to visit the Recovered Materials Processing Facility to see the recycling process up close. You’ll also see why, in 2022 and 2023, Palm Beach County placed number one in the state for recycling, as reported by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. All facility tours are free, so sign up today!

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County's commitment to recycling began in 1987. For more than 37 years, the SWA has been leading the way in providing convenient and efficient recycling services to keep our communities clean and green.
