Young Singers is a community youth choir that has been enriching the lives of children and enriching our community for 20 years. Founded by three local music educators who recognized the need for quality choral instruction and training, Young Singers has grown into a viable force in the choral community.

Young Singers’ members range from grades 2 through 12. The benefits of belonging to this community choir can be summed up in its mission statement: teaching life skills through music. YSPB is where children discover new talents and build self-esteem. Research throughout the world has shown that singing in a choir leads to improvements in memory, focus, and school work. Singing in a choir can also help a student earn scholarships, find a career, or provide an enjoyable hobby for their lifetime. Singing takes a child out of a stressful day and into a world of peace and harmony.

Children ages 7 to 18, regardless of their musical experience, can audition to become a member. There are seven choirs, divided by grade level, that members are separated into, and weekly rehearsals are held in the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.

Young Singers of the Palm Beaches now has a South County Choir, rehearsing at the Boynton Beach Arts and Cultural Center. Auditions for this choir is open to Grades 2 through 5.

To learn more about auditioning for the new South County Choir, or for the Kravis Center based choir visit their website at www.yspb.org/audition.
