If your kids are anything like mine, you spend a fair amount of time in Orlando each year. With so many options, choosing a place to stay can be hard, but we are here to help. Located in Celebration, just minutes from the Disney parks, the spacious, newly renovated, and regularly sanitized suites with full kitchens at the Meliá Orlando Celebration offer the perfect home away from home.

We had the chance to stay there this month and absolutely loved it. This will, from now, on be our hotel of choice when traveling to Orlando.

From the unique and quaint circular-shaped building with a gorgeous pool at the center and super fun activities led by an incredibly fun staff, to fantastic food for the whole family (plus your dog!) from the world-renowned on-site restaurant The Wilson, and a dog park, we couldn't have had a more enjoyable stay at the Meliá Orlando Celebration, an official Walt Disney World Good Neighbor® hotel.

1. Location, Location, Location

Located in the quaint and charming Disney-planned town of Celebration, Meliá Orlando Celebration is just 5 miles from all of the Disney action and less than 20 minutes from Universal Orlando, Sea World, and Icon Park. And, with free and easy parking and free shuttles to the parks, it makes the ideal home base for any Disney vacation.

We visited Disney Springs, Icon Park and the Universal Orlando parks from Meliá Orlando Celebration and found that it was much less hassle than we normally encounter when visiting Orlando.

And speaking of Icon Park, if you haven’t been, you should really check it out! We visited during Octoberfest and had a blast – The Orlando Eye, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, and the Museum of Illusions, and much more.

2. Everything a Family Needs for a Comfortable Stay

Meliá Orlando Celebration has super clean rooms – not only does the staff clean each room twice per day, but they are also the first U.S. hotel to use the Surfacide UV Light, a robot cleaning technology, used in all rooms between guests and regularly in the public areas.

Meliá Orlando Celebration offers one or two bedroom suites, sleeping up to eight people, making it ideal for families and extended families.

The fully outfitted en-suite full kitchens (with dishwashers!) allow one to throw together a quick meal or keep the kids' preferred snacks on hand. And don’t worry about packing enough clothes – there are convenient laundry facilities on site.

3. Brand New On-Site Restaurant, The Wilson

While it is nice to have the option to cook in your suite, if you do not feel like doing so after a long day at the parks, it's no problem at the Meliá Orlando Celebration. The brand new, trendy, high-end on-site restaurant, The Wilson, has recently arrived at the Meliá Orlando Celebration, offering indoor and pool-side dining, as well as room service. With several successful NYC locations, there is understandably a lot of buzz about the opening of The Wilson Orlando. We had the opportunity to test out their menu pre-opening and could not have been more impressed.

The trendy new restaurant focuses on fresh ingredients from local farms and purveyors, offering a modern interpretation of American classics for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For brunch, while they do prepare the classics, the brown sugar waffles and smoked salmon bagels with pickled onions were our favorites – both unique and delicious – exactly what makes for a perfect breakfast in my opinion. And while the kid's menu has many yummy options, the dinner menu is fantastic – it includes craft cocktails, a full raw bar, and varied main dishes, all perfectly prepared and delicious.

4. On-Site Fun

To cool off in the evenings or for a relaxing pool day, we loved the pool and pool area at the Meliá Orlando Celebration. Not only did the circular pool feel safe with almost the entire pool in view from anywhere on the pool deck, but it was also great fun for all of us with a hot tub and mini golf at the center, poolside games, a large screen tv and poolside service. Poolside at Meliá Orlando Celebration is an extra-fun place to be on the weekends with pool parties, activities, rock concerts, and movie nights all weekend long.

You never know who you are going to see at Meliá Orlando Celebration. We ran into Captain America checking in!

5. Dog friendly!

If you have doggies like we do and do not like to leave them at home for too long, not only is the hotel dog friendly and the tiled suites the ideal size to share with your four-legged family members, the Meliá Orlando Celebration has plenty of space to walk your dog and a fabulous on-site dog park. And, The Wilson has a special menu just for dogs!
